2002 AMLI CONSENSUS REFERENCE PANEL

This panel was developed as a Quality Assurance panel by the Association of Medical Laboratory Immunologists (AMLI) with an emphasis on providing sera for use in enzyme immunoassays. The panel was developed as follows: Serum samples were obtained from patients with well-established clinical disease. Samples were sent to 15 vendors and 10 laboratories of AMLI members with instructions to test the sera for various Autoantibodies using the methods routinely performed in their laboratories. Specimens were tested for the following antibodies: ds-DNA, SS-A, SS-B, Sm, RNP, Scl-70, Centromere, and Jo-1. The majority of participants utilized enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assays (ELISA), while some used more traditional methods of Ouchterlony (double immuno-diffusion) and IFA. 

The panel consists of 10, 1 mL specimens, eight positive and two negative (non-reactive for all assays), the consensus data and Western Blot profiles of each sera. Cost is $350/panel for AMLI members, and $400/panel for non-members.

Sever, this book was sponsored by the AMLI and was primarily written by its members. The volume covers quality assurance and standardization for humoral analytes and tissue assays, including tests for specific diseases mediated by immune mechanisms, infectious diseases, and molecular nucleotide assays.
